When the hubby requested spicy homemade pickles, I went right into searching for the best overnight recipe out there and then tweaked it just a bit to help ensure my hubby got that extra spicy kick he hoped for!

Spicy Overnight Dill Pickles

Prep Time | 15 minutes

Cook Time | 5 minutes

Total Time | 15 minutes

Serves | 12

Made By | Mama Kaite

Ingredients

  • 1 cup and/or Handful Of Fresh Dill Sprigs

  • 2 cloves Garlic, chopped

  • 1 tbsp Crushed Red Pepper Flakes

  • 1 medium Jalapeno

  • 3 cups Thinly Sliced Small Cucumbers

  • 1 1/2 cups Water

  • 3/4 cups White Vinegar

  • 1 tbsp Granulated Sugar

  • 1tbsp Kosher Salt

  • 1/8 tsp Black Pepper

Directions

  1. Slice your cucumbers into chips or spears.

  2. Cut your jalapeño into crescent shapes and chop your garlic.

  3. Place your water, vinegar, sugar, salt & pepper in a small saucepan over high heat. Whisk until the mixture comes to a boil and sugar has dissolved.

  4. Place dill, garlic red pepper flakes and jalapeño's in a large mason jar (I used a 32oz jar). Fill the rest of the mason jar with you sliced cucumbers.

  5. Pour hot liquid over the cucumbers.

  6. Allow for mixture to cool a little before placing the lid ontop of the jar.

  7. Refrigerate for 48-72 hours and then enjoy!

I hope you and your loved ones enjoy this snack as much as mine does! Please don't forget to leave us a comment on how you enjoyed it! I'd also love to see pictures of how yours turned out!

XO, Mama Kaite
